I just finished going through a few hundred emails in my inbox. It doesn’t take long for them to accumulate! What do you think when you see an email that starts out with “We really appreciate your business” and immediately goes on to try to sell you something else? Me? I delete it. A generic mass email like this doesn’t reflect genuine appreciation. If it did, it would not include a sales pitch.
Want to impress me? Send me an actual Thank You, like a greeting card that does NOT contain a sales pitch! That tells me you value my patronage. Whether I spent $50 or $5,000, I think I’m worthy of a heartfelt Thank You.
Email should be used to share information, not appreciation! What do you think?
Now back to my inbox!
